Mark Ingram releases statement after positive PED test

News broke Tuesday that Mark Ingram had been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, and the New Orleans Saints standout has responded.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media shared a statement from Ingram’s representation and noted the running back is challenging the test results.

The statement notes the arbitrator is expected to give an opinion in mid-May. If the suspension holds, Ingram will likely then appeal that decision.

As it stands, though, Ingram will be suspended for the first four games of the 2018 NFL campaign. Alvin Kamara, the Offensive Rookie of the Year last season, will be the lead runner for the Saints.

Ingram posted a career-best 1,540 yards from scrimmage last season, also scoring a personal-high 12 touchdowns.
