Well this is a twist. Johnny Manziel was the visible star of The Spring League, but he’s not the first quarterback to land a workout with an NFL team since that league ended. A quarterback who played on the same team as Manziel, Cody Keith, has landed a workout with the Indianapolis Colts, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
Free agent QB Cody Keith, who impressed in the Spring League while on Johnny Manziel’s team, is working out for the #Colts tomorrow, source said. He recently worked out for the #Rams and #Chargers, and played in the CFL last year.

Keith is a former East Carolina product who worked out for the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers recently, per Rapoport. He also played in the Canadian Football League, for Saskatchewan, in 2017, so he’s a known quantity to those who are in the business.
Still, it’s pretty interesting that Keith has landed these workouts, all while Manziel seemingly hasn’t gotten a sniff since attending a couple of pro days before the draft. The former Heisman winner was linked to the New England Patriots around that time, but since then they’ve drafted Danny Etling, reportedly ending their interest in Manziel.
