The sad post-baseball life of one Lenny Dykstra has taken another turn. According to authorities in New Jersey, the 55-year-old former New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies star was arrested Wednesday morning on felony charges of threatening an Uber driver.

Here are the details from USA Today.

“Former New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Lenny Dykstra was arrested on Wednesday morning on a felony charge for threatening an Uber driver — a terroristic threat — and several additional drug charges, according to the Linden (N.J.) Police Department,” the report read.

Dykstra allegedly threatened to kill the driver with a weapon after said driver refused to change his destination location. It’s something all of us have dealt with in the ride-share community. But most of us don’t resort to threatening to kill said driver.

Police did not find weapons at the scene of the incident. But they did seize remnants of “cocaine, MDMA and marijuana” from Dykstra.

A three-time All-Star during his 12-year MLB career, Dykstra has fallen on hard times since his retirement back in 1996. In fact, he spent months in jail after three guilty pleas stemming from bankruptcy charges.
