49ers HC Kyle Shanahan named his son after Lil Wayne?

The more you know, right? Considered one of the brightest young head coaches in the NFL, Kyle Shanahan of the San Francisco 49ers is not like head coaches of the past.

We already know he draws up a truly awesome game plan. His offense is among the most complex we’ve ever seen in the league.

But none of that matters here. It’s all about Shanahan’s obsession with hip-hop legend Lil Wayne. Just ask former NFL player and current Bleacher Report media personality Chris Simms who noted that Shanahan named his son, Carter, after the music superstar.

Here, Simms shares what has to be described as a random and downright ridiculous story about Shanahan.

“That’s carter, named after the Young Carter,” Simms noted when discussing a photo of Shanahan with his son and hip-hop legend 50 Cent. “He’s named after Lil Wayne. He (Shanahan) was obsessed with Lil Wayne during my early years in the NFL.”

Wait, what? Honestly, who would have taken Shanahan for a Lil Wayne fan?

Born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., the platinum recording artist goes by a different stage name. Though, he’s released four different The Carter albums during an illustrious career that has spanned more than a quarter-century.

Apparently, Shanahan took note. Carter is also now going to have a pretty awesome story to tell others when he grows up.
