Shocking reason Rob Gronkowski won’t attend offseason workouts

Rob Gronkowski

Rumors continue to persist that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski could very well decide to retire. It’s something that has been out there since Gronk himself refused to commit to playing next season following February’s Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

With offseason programs and organized team activities now taking place around the NFL, we’re starting to hear a little bit more about Gronkowski’s mentality heading into draft season.

According to this one report, the Pro Bowl tight end indicated that he’s not going to attend the Patriots’ OTAs next month. Instead, Gronkowski has “dirty-biking skills” to work on.

That’s sure to sit well with Bill Belichick and the Patriots. Missing organized team activities to go dirt bike riding. Solid plan, Gronk.

When asked about possible retirement, Gronkowski had this to say.

Obviously, the always entertaining Gronk was being a bit tongue-in-cheek here. Despite this, these recent comments are definitely going to be a topic of conversation behind the scenes in New England.

Rumors continue to circulate that the Patriots might look to trade the star tight end. If he’s not fully committed to putting in the offseason work, said rumors will only heat up between now and next week’s NFL Draft.
