Northwestern University is known more for being among the best scholastic colleges in the United States. Though, its athletic programs — playing in the Big 10 — have had a fair share of success in recent decades.

Officials in Chicago are now trying to take that to the next level. As ESPN’s Darren Rovell — a Northwestern grad himself — posted on Twitter Friday, renderings of the school’s new athletic facility are simply stunning.

Called the Ryan Fieldhouse and Walter Athletics Center, the venue boasts prime waterfront property on the Lake Michigan shore.

“The consolidation of athletic facilities on the main campus allows for direct adjacencies of the new sports performance facilities for football and Olympic sports, a new sports medicine and athletic training center, and a student-athlete training table,” Northwestern notes, via its official website. “The fieldhouse will also include locker rooms for multiple Wildcats varsity programs and Wilson Field, a full-sized indoor athletic field that will enable Northwestern’s student-athletes to practice and/or compete indoors during inclement weather.”

According to Sports Business Daily, the new facility will ultimately cost $270 million to build once its completed this summer. Modernizing their athletic department will help the Wildcats compete across all sports in one of the biggest conferences college athletics has to offer.
