Browns GM hints team will select Josh Allen with first pick

Josh Allen is one of the riskiest players in the 2018 NFL draft

New Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey has played it close to the vest heading into next week’s 2018 NFL Draft. Well, until now.

In speaking to the media on Thursday, Dorsey could have very well told us who he plans on selecting No. 1 overall in the draft.

“You all laugh at me when I say it, but I think hand size is important,” Dorsey said, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “With that being said, hand size in November and December, when it’s snowing, raining, it’s getting muddy. We all know the elements in Cleveland are going to play a role.”

If hand size is really that important based on what Dorsey calls the “elements in Cleveland,” Josh Allen will more than likely be the pick. He’s the only top-flight quarterback whose hands measured in at over 10 inches during the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.

Allen has been linked a whole lot to the Browns during the pre-draft process. Despite this, some would view an Allen selection No. 1 overall as a major reach for a Browns team that’s in desperate need to add that franchise quarterback. In fact, Browns fans are already freaking out over the idea.
