As the 2018 Masters comes to a conclusion at the famed Augusta National course in Georgia, the golf world will soon turn its attention to other locations with the season getting going in full force. Once the world’s greatest golfers do indeed return to Georgia this time next year, they might very well have another refreshment option available to them.

According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Augusta National filed for a “Masters” trademark a couple weeks back — a trademark that’s intended use will be to produce “distilled spirits,” otherwise known as alcoholic beverages.

Let’s get this straight. Officials at Augusta are cool with banning specific phrases fans can say. But they’re now on the verge if handing over liquid courage to said fans. That makes a whole lot of sense.

Then again, it’s all about the almighty dollar. Let’s just wait until a fan has a bit too much of “master distilled” whiskey and makes a fool of himself as Tiger Woods tees off on 12 in next year’s tourney. Dilly Dilly, indeed.
