WATCH: Sergio Garcia has fan ejected after crazy shot off cart path

Sergio Garcia was a busy man on the 12th hole of Wednesday’s match against Shubhankar Sharma at the WGC-Dell Technologies match play.

Garcia’s tee shot on the par five found the cart path. Rather than take a free drop, he decided to play the second shot as it lied. Not only that, but presumably to keep from slipping with his spikes, he took his shoes off. It worked beautifully, as Garcia striped his second shot, finishing pin high just on the fringe of the green.

After the shot, Garcia got the attention of one of Austin’s finest. Apparently a fan had said or done something that Garcia didn’t approve of, and the reigning Masters champ at least attempted to have the fan removed.

It’s hard to make out exactly what the fan did or said to upset Garcia. We can only hope that the decision to have the police officer approach the man wasn’t made lightly. Justin Thomas had a similar incident at the Honda Classic and as he acknowledged in a series of tweets (which can be seen here, here, here, and here), that’s not something that other fans like to see.
