The injuries keep coming for the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Fresh off news that Stephen Curry will miss at least the next four games with an ankle injury, the team announced that fellow All-Star guard Klay Thompson has a fractured thumb and will be evaluated again next Thursday.

This could very well be a monumental blow for the Warriors’ hopes of earning the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. They are currently two games behind Houston for that spot.

Unlike Curry, Thompson doesn’t have a history of injuries. In fact, he’s missed a total of 12 games over the past six seasons. The majority of those were simply due to rest.

Thompson, 28, is averaging 19.7 points and shooting at a 44 percent clip from distance on the season. He’s now going to be out at least the next four games and likely a whole lot more.
