Minnesota Timberwolves guard Andrew Wiggins just inked a five-year, $145.5 million max extension with the team this past October. The idea here is to continue building around him as well as All-Star performers Karl-Anthony Towns and Jimmy Butler.
Unfortunately, it now looks like the 23-year-old Wiggins is upset about his role as a third option behind Towns and Butler for the up-and-coming Timberwolves.

How Wiggins didn’t see this happening when he inked his massive extension back in October remains to be seen. It’s also all sort of ridiculous. Towns and Butler are better players. That’s why the defense-challenged Wiggins is seen as a third cog on the team.
Wiggins has seen his shot attempts decrease by just over three per game this season. He’s also averaging just 17.9 points on 44 percent shooting compared to 23.6 points and 45 percent from the field last season.
Whether this creates unnecessary drama in the Twin Cities moving forward on the season remains to be seen. Minnesota heads into Wednesday’s action as the sixth seed out west.
