LiAngelo Ball’s whirlwind of a 12-month stretch will feature a hopeful spot in the NBA. Shams Charania of The Vertical reports the second brother of the well-known family has declared for the draft.

According to Charania, Ball has submitted the necessary paperwork to officially enter the June draft.

After being suspended from UCLA due to a shoplifting charge in China, Ball left school and joined Lithuanian club Vytautus Prienu along with younger brother LaMelo. LiAngelo is averaging 15.7 points while shooting 45 percent beyond the arc this season.

Now, the question is three-fold: Is he talented enough to play in the NBA? If yes, does a team want to accept the baggage that he brings? If yes, is that franchise willing to deal with the media circus that follows?

That’s a tough discussion for front offices to have, but now that Ball has submitted paperwork, it’s one that will be entertained.
