Report: Dolphins to sign Albert Wilson

The Miami Dolphins recently shipped Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns, but now the South Florida franchise has its replacement in the slot.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Dolphins will sign Albert Wilson to a three-year, $24 million deal.

Wilson spent four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2014. He’d been a steady complementary option for the team, also posting career-high numbers across the board last season with 42 receptions for 554 yards and three touchdowns.

Landry leaves an enormous production void, and Wilson cannot be expected to replace all of it. However, he’s a dependable target and relatively cost-effective option for the Dolphins.

The signing can become official Wednesday when the new league year begins.
