Report: Broncos won’t release C.J. Anderson but will listen to trade offers

C.J. Anderson

There was some thought that the Denver Broncos could release veteran running back C.J. Anderson, but according to a new report that’s not in the cards right now.

Instead, per Mike Klis of 9News in Denver, the Broncos will keep Anderson but will listen to trade offers.

Anderson, a 27-year-old back who put up over 1,000 yards on the ground last year, is set to earn $4.5 million this year, with none of that money being guaranteed. Last season was his best as a professional.

And while Denver could potentially save money by cutting him it’s clear they’d much rather see if they can get something out of him instead, either in a trade of just letting him continue playing out his contract. That said, if they get no enticing offers in the weeks to come, there’s still a chance Anderson could get cut as Denver maneuvers to sign other players.
