LOOK: Kirk Gibson signs seat where famous home run landed

The 1988 season will mark the 30-year anniversary of last championship for the Los Angeles Dodgers. It will also mark the 30th anniversary of one of MLB’s all-time greatest moments, Kirk Gibson’s walk-off home run off of Dennis Eckersley in Game 1 of that series.

The Dodgers and Gibson are immortalizing that moment.

Yes, that’s the seat where Gibson’s famous home run landed. And all season, fans will have an opportunity to sit in that seat.

But if you’re thinking about buying tickets to sit there, we’ve got some bad news for you. You’re already too late.

“As for the Home Run Seat, the Dodgers paired it with the seat adjacent to it for a $300 package for each home game in 2018 — and already sold out of all of them, with $200 from each sale benefiting Parkinson’s Research in honor of Gibson,” Adrian Garro of MLB.com noted.

That’s unquestionably a great cause. Even at $300 for a pair of bleacher seats, we can see why Dodgers fans swooped so quickly.
