Joel Embiid won’t travel with Sixers on two-game road trip

Joel Embiid got smacked hard in the head Wednesday night when teammate Markelle Fultz crashed into him.

He was taken to a hospital afterward and posted an ominous message on his social media accounts.

A day later, and now he’s going to be staying home as his team heads out for a two-game road trip.

The Sixers are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 44-30. They are just a half-game back of the Cleveland Cavaliers for third, having ripped off eight straight wins in a row.

In 63 games this year Embiid is averaging 22.9 points, 11 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. Hopefully for the sake of the Sixers, this indispensable superstar can make a return before the playoffs.
