Jazz reportedly sign John Stockton’s son to 10-day contract

This is a really cool story to get your weekend started. Clearly in the mix for a Western Conference Playoff spot, the Utah Jazz are turning to a familiar name for a reinforcement.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Jazz are signing G-League guard David Stockton to a 10-day contract.

“Stockton, 25, is expected to join the Jazz today, sources said. The Jazz were seeking another guard because of the potential of starter Ricky Rubio missing Saturday’s game against Sacramento,” the report read.

This name should ring a bell. He’s the son of Hall of Fame former Jazz guard John Stockton. The older Stockton played 19 seasons in the NBA, all with the Jazz, earning 10 All-Star Game appearances and finishing with the most assists in Association history.

The younger Stockton had been playing for the Reno Big Horns of the G-League, where he was averaging 16.3 points and 5.2 assists per game. He previously played for the Sacramento Kings back in 2015 and is a product of Gonzaga.
