Immediately after leading his team to a championship and earning Super Bowl MVP honors, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was seemingly a hot commodity on the trade market. But now, with draft season getting going, it’s looking more and more like Foles will remain in Philadelphia as the backup to Carson Wentz.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson pretty much confirmed this on Saturday.

With Carson Wentz coming off a torn ACL, it always made sense for Philadelphia to hang on to Foles as an insurance policy. With a cap hit of just $7.6 million next season, that makes even more sense. Philadelphia was reportedly demanding at least two first-round picks for Foles in trade discussions. That could explain way the market has been bare.
Foles, 29, completed 73 percent of his passes for nearly 1,000 yards with six touchdowns and one interception in three playoff games last season. He’s slated to become a free agent following the 2018 season.
