Sportsbook has Giants favored to land Bill Belichick in 2019

Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots hasn't discussed a Malcolm Butler trade with the Saints yet

While Bill Belichick will remain the New England Patriots’ head coach next season, there are rumors surfacing that he will eventually leave the team in the not-so-distant future. Whether that’s in 2019 or later remains to be seen.

But the team being able to retain offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels has played into the narrative that Belichick might not be long for the job.

If that is indeed the case, a whole plethora of teams would show interest in Belichick should he decide to move on from New England and not retire altogether.

According to the sportsbook BetDSI, the New York Giants are actually favored to land Belichick after the 2018 campaign. That includes the Patriots themselves.

The site notes that New York has +120 odds to bring Belichick on board. Meanwhile, New England currently sits at +150. It is followed by the Dallas Cowboys (+300), New York Jets (+500) and Green Bay Packers (+1,000) in the top five. The San Francisco 49ers (+2,000), Chicago Bears (+3,000) and Cleveland Browns (+5,000) have the lowest odds of landing the future Hall of Fame head coach.

At this point, it’s pretty much an exercise in futility to project Belichick’s next move. He could very well have many years left in New England. He could decide to retire after the 2018 season. Heck, the Giants themselves are a viable option with the two having a history together.
