The late, great Keith Jackson was a legendary figure who is still being mourned by his family, friends and the college football community as a whole. He greatly influenced college football and coined the phrase “The Granddaddy of Them All,” referring of course to the Rose Bowl.

Now the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation is working toward raising the funds to honor Jackson with a monument to his legacy. According to the Los Angeles Times, the foundation hopes to raise $400,000 for the monument.

“Keith epitomized big moments in sports, that turned out to be iconic memories for generations of people,” Dedan Brozino, the foundation’s executive director, said to the Los Angeles paper. “We owe a lot of our history to his mind and his voice. We hope this statue will provide a gift for future generations to experience and learn from his broadcast legacy and that of the venue.”

The foundation has set up a way for anyone to donate to this cause online (link here). The campaign is set to run through Feb. 1, 2019, and we’d be shocked if the goal of $400,000 wasn’t met much sooner than that.
