Report: Steelers have not made any attempt to trade Martavis Bryant

Martavis Bryant

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly not trying to trade wide receiver Martavis Bryant. This refutes an earlier report that suggested they might entertain offers.

This report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports should clear up any confusion.

Bryant’s name was previously brought up by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport as one of several players that could be placed on the trade block.

This was a logical conclusion considering Bryant had some clashes with the Steelers last season. He got into it with rookie receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster on Instagram last year and complained about his usage on the field. His behavior wound up costing him a one-game as a result.

Budget-wise, it makes sense for the Steelers to hang onto Bryant who will cost the team only $705,000 in total cash payout in 2018. As long as he is healthy and contributing, the Steelers have a steal here with Bryant as a legitimate No. 3 wideout behind Antonio Brown and Smith-Schuster.
