Report: Andrew Luck expected to be ready for training camp

Andrew Luck

As we move towards the 2018 season, the biggest issue surrounding the Indianapolis Colts is the health of Andrew Luck. But according to former team president and general manager Bill Polian, things are moving in the right direction.

Speaking on ESPN’s NFL Live, Polian noted that Luck is on track to be ready for next season.

“In talking to every decision maker in the organization, they make it clear that Andrew’s rehab is coming along as scheduled,” Polian said. “It’s right in line with what Dr. Andrews outlined at the end of the season when he went down there to see Dr. Andrews. It’s on schedule and they expect that he’s going to be ready to go by training camp.”

This goes in line with another recent report, noting that Luck will begin throwing soon.

Luck has spent much of the last three seasons injured. He played in only seven games during the 2015 season, played in 15 games in 2016 but was injured throughout, and missed all of 2017. Not coincidentally, Indianapolis’ record took a dramatic hit over those years, as the Colts missed the playoffs each time.

Clearly, getting a healthy Luck back is important for Indianapolis’ long term success. As such, Monday’s news is welcome for the Colts and their fans.
