Multiple Eagles players sick as Super Bowl LII looms

We’re not ready to predict a Michael Jordan flu game for any member of the Philadelphia Eagles, but multiple players might have to reach a bit deeper in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

According to ESPN, Timmy Jernigan and Ronald Darby missed media availability on Thursday due to illnesses. Jernigan actually didn’t practice on Wednesday because he’s sick. Meanwhile, head coach Doug Pederson was dealing with a bug this past weekend.

In addition to both Jernigan and Darby, fellow defensive starter Mychal Kendricks is just now getting over the bug.

“I’m getting over it right now. It’s like a cold, dude. I don’t know. The whole team has it, though,” Kendricks said, via ESPN. “I don’t think it had anything to do with us being out here. I think it started sometime last week. Something we’ve got to get through. We’ll be fine. It’s not that big of a deal.”

The winter weather in Minnesota isn’t helping matters here.

Though, this surely doesn’t mean that any member of the team is actually going to miss Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots. They’ll play through pretty much anything to unseat the defending champs.

Even then, it’s definitely a storyline to follow in the lead up to Super Bowl LII.
