Earlier this week, Warren Sapp was signing autographs when he was served a court summons about a lawsuit filed by Paula Trickey, who alleges he attacked her at a Super Bowl party in 2015.
Originally, Sapp was arrested for allegedly soliciting a prostitute and assault, though the charges were later dropped.
Now Trickey is taking the case to civil court, though Sapp’s representative, Brandon V. Chretien, offered quite the rebuttal, per TMZ Sports.
“Mr. Sapp was never at the ESPN party where Ms. Trickey is claiming she had a run in with him and no one will be able to produce pictures that suggest otherwise.
“It’s on record that Mr. Sapp was hosting an ‘NFL Alumni Association’ party where Pitbull was performing that evening of January 30th, 2015 and this was a completely separate event from the ESPN party that Ms. Trickey is alluding to.”
Additionally, Chretien points to the fact that Trickey was “heavily intoxicated” that night, was arrested for DUI after the party in which she alleges Sapp attacked her and had a BAC of .119, double the legal limit.
He concluded by saying, “We are consulting with our legal team and we look forward to getting to the bottom of this issue.”
