San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is the hottest personality in NFL after becoming the richest player to date. So, who doesn’t want to be surrounded by a promising young quarterback expected to help take his team to the next level?
Garoppolo is getting offers from players who want to jump aboard the 49ers’ train.
“That’s kind of how this thing goes. Guys reach out to other guys rather than coaches or executives. Just in the last 48 hours, to be honest, I’ve had texts and messages from guys, Garoppolo said during an interview with KNBR. They’re excited about it. It’s a place that, why wouldn’t you want to be here? It’s gorgeous outside year round, we’re a young, up and coming team, we’ve got a phenomenal coaching staff. It’s an exciting time out here in the Bay Area, and hopefully a lot of guys want to experience that, too.”
Where do we all sign up? Beautiful weather, fresh attitudes, and a promising new future should have many players wanting to join in on the fun out west.
After winning each of his five starts in 2017, Garoppolo will have a lot to live up to playing under his new mega-contract this year. But, the 49ers did what they had to in order to secure Garoppolo. If they had not paid him, other teams would have surely offered to.
Now, it will be fun to watch and see if any of the players that reached out to Garoppolo actually manage to join him.
