Falcons owner was not happy about Patriots troll job after Super Bowl LI

The Patriots' Super Bowl ring has 283 diamonds to signify their tremendous comeback.

As the New England Patriots prepare to defend their championship in Super Bowl LII against the Philadephia Eagles on Sunday, the team they beat last season apparently isn’t over that loss.

The story is by now well known. New England overcame a 28-3 deficit to pull off the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history. On the receiving end of that comeback, the Atlanta Falcons became the butt of all jokes around the NFL.

It now looks like Falcons owner Arthur Blank isn’t over that defeat. More than that, he’s still upset over a certain troll job from the Pats’ organization following the loss.

“I said to Robert (Kraft), ‘You didn’t have to do the 28-3 in the ring,’” he told me recently. “It kind of pissed me off,” Mark Leibovich of The NY Times noted Thursday.

It’s true. The Patriots put 283 diamonds into each Super Bowl ring to take into account the team’s 28-3 comeback. It was pretty darn brilliant.

Here’s some advice to Mr. Blank. Maybe, be a bit pissed off over your team blowing a 25-point lead in the Super Bowl. The Patriots will do the Patriots. If that upsets you, join the growing club.
