Students help raise money to send school bus driver to Super Bowl LII

There’s jobs out there that most of us wouldn’t want to do. But they’re needed to make everything run smoothly.

For decades, school bus driver Gary Kelmer has proudly taken on that role. He’s a fixture in his Mount Laurel, New Jersey, community. And now, those who he brightened so many days for have come together to send the longtime Philadelphia Eagles fan to Minnesota for Super Bowl LII this coming Sunday.

“Parents and students, stunned by Mr. Gary’s daily kindness, raised more than $5,000 in five days to send him and his wife to the Super Bowl in Minneapolis,” a local CBS News affiliate in Philadelphia noted.

Dozens of people surprised Gary after his final stop on Monday, giving him two tickets, airfare and personalized Eagles jerseys for the occasion. Gary and his wife will be in Minnesota to attend the game. And the scene was one that will surely give you goosebumps.

“He just goes over and beyond. He’s so kind, he’s a wonderful person, he does so much for the community,” fundraiser organizer Amy Smith said.

The group started a GoFundMe campaign that has now raised nearly $5,100 in just over a week. It’s enough to give Gary and his wife the weekend of their lives.

That’s just some great stuff right there.
