Robby Anderson arrested, facing nine ‘serious’ charges

Robby Anderson

New York Jets receiver Robby Anderson was reportedly arrested in South Florida on Friday morning and is facing “several serious charges.”

“Anderson is facing several serious charges including: harm to a public servant/family, reckless driving, eluding police, and resisting arrest,” reports Andy Slater of Slater Scoops.

All told, Anderson is facing nine serious charges and is alleged to have threatened the family of the arresting officer.

“He continued to make other verbal threats towards my family,” the officer, Jonathan Hennessy, wrote in the report, per ESPN. “Based on his statements, it was clear he wanted to sexually assault my wife.”

The receiver has been in trouble with the law before. He’s still currently facing an ongoing case against him stemming from an arrest last year in which he allegedly fought with police.

A rising star for the Jets, Anderson caught 63 passes for 941 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2017. Originally an undrafted free agent out of Temple, Anderson has one year remaining on his rookie deal and is set to make $630,000 in base salary during the 2018 NFL season.
