Report: Cavaliers seeking trades for both DeAndre Jordan and George Hill

The Cleveland Cavaliers are doing some serious legwork in an attempt to get better ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline. According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Cavaliers are pursuing separate trade deals for both George Hill of the Sacramento Kings and DeAndre Jordan of the Los Angeles Clippers.

There’s a chance the Cavaliers will have competition for both of these players. We recently highlighted why the San Antonio Spurs should make a move for Hill, noting their need to upgrade perimeter defense.

Jordan has been strongly linked to the Cavaliers in recent weeks, and one report suggested Cleveland is very serious about looking into a deal for the big man. However, it’s also been reported that Jordan himself would rather play for another contender, which you can read about here.

That Cleveland needs to spice things up is readily apparent. The Cavs have won just four of their last 13 games and are in a tailspin of epic proportions. As a result, they are now six games back of the Boston Celtics and are in third place in the east, just one game ahead of the Miami Heat.
