Report: Career-ending injury for Bills starter

The Buffalo Bills have unexpectedly lost a starter on the offensive line. Eric Wood, the team’s center, has a career-ending injury, according to SCOUT Fantasy.

SCOUT first reported the news — which several other outlets confirmed — as an unnamed player who wished to not be identified for now. The report said a press conference will be held Monday, which may officially announce the news.

A first-round pick of the Bills in 2009, Wood spent nine professional seasons with the franchise. He started 120 games over that span and opened all 16 contests in four of the last five years.

Wood, who had signed a $16 million contract extension prior to the 2017 campaign, earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2015.
