LSU basketball dismisses two players, suspends two others.

While no game was on the schedule, the men’s LSU basketball team had a busy day on Monday. Unfortunately for the Tigers and coach Will Wade, it was not busy for a good reason.

“By midday, Wade had suspended Wayde Sims and Brandon Rachal one game each for violating team policies and dismissed Mayan Kiir and Galen Alexander for the rest of the season,” Sheldon Mickles of The Advocate reported. “All four disciplinary actions were separate cases, Wade said.”

The specific reasons for the suspensions were not revealed.

Kirr and Alexander have each played sparingly for the Tigers during the 2017-18 season. Alexander has averaged 6.1 minutes per game, while Kirr played 5.4. Rachal, meanwhile, has averaged 15.8 minutes and 4.3 points per game for LSU, while Sims checks in at 17.5 minutes and 5.7 points.

LSU is 12-8 overall, but its 3-5 mark in SEC play is good enough for only ninth in the conference.
