There are rumors out there that the Cleveland Browns are enamored with Wyoming product Josh Allen, who they could very well take No. 1 overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. If they do, Allen is all about that action, boss.

Speaking with Bull and Fox on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland, Allen made it clear he not only wouldn’t be opposed to taking on the challenge. He welcomes it.

This is what you want to hear from a young quarterback. Guys don’t succeed at this level without having the confidence to back up their physical skills. That said, this is almost exactly what DeShone Kizer said before the 2017 season, and we all know how that turned out.

Cleveland has a long history of bad luck at the quarterback position (just look). And while Allen undeniably has the physical tools to play quarterback at the pro level, he’s probably the riskiest of the “top” quarterbacks coming into the league in 2018. Accuracy is a real issue — he completed just 56.2 percent of his passes in college — and so also is the fact that Allen didn’t perform at a tremendously high level against lesser competition.

It’s going to be fascinating to see what the Browns do at the top of the draft. They have made it clear that finding a quarterback is their top priority, as it should be. But their fans cannot exactly feel warm and fuzzy that their team will get it right in 2018, or any time soon.
