Joakim Noah leaves Knicks for personal reasons, will miss two games

NBA Free agent, Joakim Noah

Tuesday’s loss to the Golden State Warriors was only Joakim Noah’s seventh game of the season and marked the first time in 10 games that the New York Knicks center saw action. It will be at least two more games before that happens again.

Anthony Rieber of Newsday reported that “Noah left the team for undisclosed personal reasons and will miss Thursday and Friday’s games.”

That will keep him out for Thursday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, and Friday’s against the Phoenix Suns. Rieber announced that the team recalled Damyean Dotson from the G League.

New York enters Thursday’s action with a 21-27 record. That has them in 10th place in the Eastern Conference and four games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the eighth and final playoff spot.

Assuming he misses only the two games, Noah will return to the court on Tuesday when the Knicks return home to face the Brooklyn Nets.
