Stedman Bailey looking to make NFL comeback after being shot in the head

free agent NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey, who was shot twice in the head in November of 2015, has been cleared to play football.

“Doctors say I can play,” said Bailey, per Caleb Wygal of DubVNation, “but it’ll be up to teams to clear me, which I’ll be looking at this off season.”

This is tremendous news. Bailey was shot while in a car with his cousin in what he thinks was a case of mistaken identity, according to the report. The bullets fractured his skull. But thankfully, did not cause damage to the tissue in his brain.

Bailey was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the then St. Louis Rams. He last played in Week 8 of the 2015 season prior to the November shooting. This past offseason saw him work out with former teammate Tavon Austin as well as Pittsburgh Steelers star Antonio Brown.

Bailey now wants to return to professional football.

“I’ll be looking for teams to bring me in for workouts so they can see me move personally,” Bailey said. “From there I know I’ll be good. Steddy ambition baby!”

Bailey has certainly defied the odds and has proved that through sheer perseverance anything is possible. We wish Bailey all the best in his efforts to make an NFL comeback.
