Report: Nationals, Cardinals and Giants among teams interested in Marlins’ Marcell Ozuna

The Miami Marlins have already traded one All-Star outfielder and another may be on his way out. According to a report, interest is growing in Marcell Ozuna.

We had previously heard that the Marlins were talking with teams about Ozuna. Now, we know at least some of the interested teams.

It’s certainly no surprise to see the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals on that list. Both teams were heavily involved in the Giancarlo Stanton sweepstakes. So, it only stands to reason that they’d look elsewhere to retool their outfields. The Oakland Athletics have also been named as a potential suitor for Ozuna.

The Marlins would certainly be selling high on Ozuna, who is coming off of his best year. In 2017, he hit .312/.376/.548 with 93 runs scored, 124 RBI, and 37 home runs. In addition to making his second straight All-Star team, Ozuna also won his first career Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards.
