Report: MRI on Stephen Curry’s ankle negative, no timeline for return

Stephen Curry

The Golden State Warriors and two-time MVP Stephen Curry received some pretty good news on Tuesday.

A day after Curry went down with a scary looking ankle injury, MRI results on said injury came back negative.

This means that Curry himself avoided a serious injury. Though, with swelling prevalent in the right ankle and Curry’s own history of troublesome ankle injuries, it’s likely he will be out for some time.

At 19-6, Golden State is right there with Houston for the top spot in the Western Conference. It also has nine games against losing teams over the next month. The Warriors can likely afford to hold him out through that stretch.

Considering how bad the injury looked, this is most definitely good news for the defending champs.
