Jerry Jones: Ezekiel Elliott to get 20-25 carries Sunday against Seahawks

Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys

Not surprisingly, the Dallas Cowboys intend on utilizing the heck out of Ezekiel Elliott, who’s coming into the game fresh off his six-game suspension. On Friday, owner Jerry Jones made it clear the ‘Boys will be leaning hard on Elliott in this upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaking during his weekly appearance with 105.3 The Fan, Jones said Elliott will get 20-25 carries.

“He’s young,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “I think we can use him as much as we want to.”

The running back is ripped (look here), having spent the past six weeks mostly training at a resort near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Before being suspended, Elliott had rushed for 783 yards and seven touchdowns, and he still leads the Cowboys by over 200 yards on the ground.

He’ll need to give the offense a spark in the final two weekends of action for the Cowboys to have a chance to play in the postseason. Dallas, with a record of 8-6, needs to win to keep its playoff hopes alive in the ultra-competitive NFC. The Seahawks are in the same boat, coming into the contest with the same record. Whichever team loses will be eliminated.
