Heisman winner Baker Mayfield to play in Senior Bowl

Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield in college football Week 2

In what could be an absolute game changer for the All-Star game and the NFL Draft process, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield has decided he’ll attend the Senior Bowl in Mobile this upcoming January.

A reigning Heisman winner and likely first-round pick playing in this annual game is huge. Not only does it give teams an extra game and practice week to evaluate Mayfield, it could start a trend of top-end prospects playing in the game.

Mayfield, who has led his team to the College Football Playoff, has put up 4,340 yards to go with 41 touchdowns and five interceptions on the season.

He’s subject to some debate in NFL Draft circles, with some questioning whether his 6-foot-1 frame will hold up at the next level. Others truly believe he’s the No. 1 quarterback in the draft and a likely top-five pick. For our part, we’ve mocked him to the Arizona Cardinals 13th overall.
