Eagles owner: Carson Wentz’s ACL surgery went ‘very well’

The road back to the field starts now for Carson Wentz. The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback underwent ACL surgery on Wednesday. According to team owner Jeffrey Lurie, it was a success.

As Marc Sessler of NFL.com noted, “operations of this nature typically require a 9-to-12 month healing period.”

Wentz got hurt late in Week 14’s win over the Los Angeles Rams. He has vowed to “come back stronger than ever” from his injury.

Wentz finished the year completing 60.2 percent of his passes for 3,296 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Philadelphia clinched the NFC East with its win in Los Angeles and enters Week 15 holding the No. 1 overall seed in the conference.
