Amari Cooper expected to miss Week 15 with ankle injury

The worst season of Amari Cooper’s young NFL career isn’t getting any better. With his Oakland Raiders hanging on to playoff hopes, Cooper is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys with an ankle injury.

Cooper sat out the team’s Week 13 win over the New York Giants due to the ankle injury. After after returning briefly last week, he aggravated said injury.

After putting up 1,000-plus yards and earning a Pro Bowl appearance in each of his first two seasons, Cooper has been an unmitigated disaster in 2017. Dealing with a case of the dropsies, Cooper has caught 42 passes for 499 yards and boasts a disastrous 41.6 catch rate. Ouch.

Oakland heads into this week’s game with a 6-7 record and one game behind both the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. It likely needs to win out and get some help in order to make the playoffs. Not having Cooper on the field, despite his struggles, won’t help here.
