TCU star QB Kenny Hill ruled out Saturday against Texas Tech

TCU will be without starting quarterback Kenny Hill this Saturday when the Horned Frogs take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubboch, Texas.

Hill, who was diagnosed with a concussion, will not even travel with the team this Saturday as he recovers, per Carlos Mendez of the Star-Telegram.

Head coach Gary Patterson is using this challenging circumstance as a means to perhaps stumble upon a silver lining.

“Sometimes things happen for a reason,” Patterson said Tuesday. “So we’ll see what the reason is and what we have to do … Sometimes it’s a learning experience. I’m hoping it’s a really good learning experience and it helps you down the road.”

So far this season, Hill has helped the Horned Frogs achieve an 8-2 record and second place in the Big 12. The quarterback has passed for 2,279 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Hill will be replaced this weekend by freshman quarterback Shawn Robinson, who has attempted just 10 passes this year.

TCU needs to win out. With another loss, it would be very tough to get into the Big 12 Championship Game this year. Needless to say, the rest of the players on the team need to step up this Saturday on the road to make up for the leadership and production Hill brings to the table every week.
