Star ‘Bama DB Minkah Fitzpatrick ‘100 percent’ for Iron Bowl

Minkah Fitzpatrick Alabama 2018 NFL Draft

The Alabama Crimson Tide aren’t at full strength heading into Saturday’s pivotal Iron Bowl against Auburn, but star defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick says he’s ready to roll.

“Coach said I’m day-to-day, but I’m 100 percent now,” Fitzpatrick said, per AL.com’s Matt Zenitz.

‘Bama has suffered some tremendous losses on the defensive side of the ball this year, especially up front. We saw the results of these losses when Mississippi State nearly beat the Crimson Tide a couple weekends back.

Fitzpatrick has been banged up and ended up sitting out of the Mercer game last weekend. Obviously, the Tide hardly needed him, but they’ll need him for sure this weekend against the Tigers, who are on a roll themselves these days.

Fitzpatrick spoke about the ability to sit out last game.

“It’s definitely good for the rest of my body, for sure,” Fitzpatrick said. “This whole season has been a bruiser. So just getting that break for the rest of my body definitely helped.”

Fitzpatrick said he spent the extra time last week watching tape on Auburn to get ready for the Iron Bowl.

This one’s for all the marbles in the SEC West. Whichever team wins will take the crown and move on to the SEC Championship Game.

Having Fitzpatrick back in the lineup will certainly give the Tide a boost. He’s one of the best secondary defenders in the nation and one of the most dangerous players at any position, to boot.
