Seahawks’ Richard Sherman undergoes surgery on ruptured Achilles

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman suffered a devastating ruptured Achilles in front of a nationally televised audience this past Thursday against the Arizona Cardinals. The injury will cost this All Pro the remainder of the season. But he’s expected to be back in time for the 2018 campaign.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Sherman has already undergone surgery on the Achilles injury and is on the mend.

When Seattle takes on the Atlanta Falcons this upcoming Monday night, it will be the first time in exactly 2,500 days that the franchise has not had Sherman in the mix. It’s most definitely uncharted waters for an organization that has relied on the Legion of Boom so much since Sherman entered the NFL back in 2011.

We have absolutely no idea how this dynamic is going to play out. Sherman really is one of those difference makers. He pretty much takes away one side of the field. With him out of action, Seattle’s entire defense will be impacted a great deal.

The good news here is that Sherman has undergone surgery and has already started the process of recovery. He couldn’t ask for much more right now.
