It’s official. Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans will not be on the field this upcoming Sunday when his team takes on the New York Jets.
The NFL has upheld the one-game suspension it handed down to Evans for his involvement in a fight against the New Orleans Saints last week.

Evans was suspended for shoving Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore in the back during an incident that also involved Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston. It’s surprising, especially considering he was not ejected for the incident.
Meanwhile, neither A.J. Green nor Jalen Ramsey were suspended for a fight in Jacksonville that included multiple punches being thrown.
To say the NFL’s disciplinary process is arbitrary would be an understatement. And it was pretty obvious Evans’ suspension was going to be upheld in the league’s kangaroo court. He’ll now be forced to sit Week 10 with the Buccaneers looking to avoid a six-game losing streak. How fun.
