Things have not gone too swimmingly for John Wall and the Washington Wizards. They enter this weekend with a pedestrian 10-8 record. And for his part, the recently-extended Wall will now miss the next two weeks with a knee injury.
“Wall will receive PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and viscosupplementation injections to reduce the inflammation in his left knee. He is expected to miss approximately two weeks,” the team reported on its official website.
Wall underwent an MRI on the knee on Friday.

He previously had to get the knee drained earlier this season. Per the team’s statement, Wall also saw the same doctor this past May about the troublesome left knee. That has to be pretty concerning to both the player and the team.
By sitting Wall for the next couple weeks, Washington is hoping to get him 100 percent healthy for the remainder of the year. The team’s only hope back east includes Wall playing at an MVP level.
Thus far this season, Wall is averaging 20.3 points and 9.2 assists while shooting at a 44 percent clip from the field. Obviously, the knee injury has impacted his performance.
