Indiana Hoosiers paid Indiana State $90K to beat them Friday night

The 2017-18 season didn’t get off to the rousing start Archie Miller and the Indiana Hoosiers were hoping for as they hosted Indiana State Friday night.

The Sycamores put the hurt on their in-state big brother, so to speak, winning in blowout fashion, 90-69. Adding insult to injury for the Hoosiers, they paid Indiana state $90,000 to come into their home and beat their pants off.

The Sycamores were red hot from outside the arc, hitting on 17-of-26 three-point attempts. Five players scored in double figures, with senior guard Brenton Scott leading the charge scoring 24 points with three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Only three Hoosiers scored more than eight points. They were ice cold from behind the arc (22.2 percent) and from the free-throw stripe as well (46.7 percent). All in all, it was an awful first game for Indiana, which clearly has some things to clean up going forward.
