College football teams across the nation pay tribute to US military on Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, we celebrate the brave men and women who protect this great nation of ours by serving in the United States Armed Forces. This year, Veterans Day falls on college football game day, and as such teams all over the nation have taken the opportunity to pay tribute to those who serve and who have served in our nation’s military.

Some teams have chosen to honor the military via their uniforms. Western Michigan, which played on Wednesday night, featured Stars & Stripes helmets.

UNLV, which played Friday night, utilized a similar strategy, and head coach Tony Sanchez reminded us why we celebrate Veterans Day before the game.

The Mountain West conference shared a tremendous nearly five-minute video dedicated to honoring U.S. veterans.

Here is how some other teams chose to honor the military men and women.

We’re all so fortunate to live in a nation where so many brave men and women volunteer their lives to defend our liberty and freedom. God bless all of you who have served and who are serving. Our nation is great because of you.
