Chris Harris puts John Elway on blast for ‘soft’ comment

Chris Harris

Prior to his team’s Week 11 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos boss John Elway said his team “got a little bit soft.” After the Week 11 game, Chris Harris Jr. fired back.

The defense definitely showed up during the Week 11 loss. The Bengals amassed a paltry 190 yards of offense. But the Broncos’ offense was unable to put more than 17 points on the board.

The game’s most significant play came early, when Denver quarterback Brock Osweiler threw an interception in the end zone, which Dre Kirkpatrick returned 100 yards to set up a touchdown. That was nothing less than a nine-point swing.

Obviously, Harris feels that the offense’s general ineptitude is on Elway for failing to provide the right pieces on that side of the ball in the post Peyton Manning era in Denver.

Whoever’s fault it is, the Broncos are well on their way to following up 2015’s Super Bowl win with two straight missed playoff appearances.
