Chiefs sign Pro Bowl CB Darrelle Revis

Looking to bolster their secondary, the Kansas City Chiefs have signed veteran free agent cornerback Darrelle Revis, who last played with the New York Jets in 2016.

“We’re excited to add Darrelle to the roster,” coach Andy Reid said in an official release on Chiefs.com. “He has experience and familiarity with Bob Sutton’s defense, he’s a team guy and we feel like a player of his caliber can help our football team.”

Kansas City defensive coordinator Bob Sutton was a member of the New York Jets’ staff during all of Revis’ first tenure with the team.

Revis was released by the Jets following the 2016 season, which was the worst of his esteemed career.

Revis is a seven-time Pro Bowler and has earned First Team All-Pro honors four times.

The Chiefs have sputtered in recent weeks. After starting 5-0, they now sit at 6-4. But despite the recent struggles, Kansas City has a two-game lead in the AFC West.
