Having sat out since December of 2014, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon is nearing a return to live-game action.

Gordon was reinstated by the NFL on a conditional basis earlier this season, a decision that made him eligible to return to the field in Week 13.

It’s now looking like that will be the case. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the Browns will indeed activate Gordon for their game against the Los Angeles Chargers next week.

To say that this has been a long road back for Gordon would be a major understatement. After violating the NFL’s Substance Abuse Policy on multiple occasions, Gordon was given an indefinite ban by the league.

His return to the field will come three years to the month since the former NFL receiving leader last saw action.

At 27 years old, Gordon immediately becomes the Browns’ most-talented offensive weapon. Back in 2013, his last full season, the former Baylor star put up a league-high 1,646 yards en route to earning All-Pro honors.
